user acct password problems with remote log in

Hi - thanks for any help.
I am using vista small business on my work computer. When i try to use
logmein free, a remote access software, everything works fine until i am
asked by my work computer to log in by selecting my user name and giving my
password. i provide my usual user name and password, and the computer tells
me it is incorrect. I am DEFINITELY using the correct password (its not
number lock or caps, etc.) i have verified with logmein tech support that i
should be using my regular user name and password.
i also had the same problem when trying to change the password on this user
acct from the computer (i.e. not remotely logging in, but sitting in front of
it). when i am prompted to provide the current password, it tells me its
incorrect - but it is definitely the same password i use to log in normally.
any suggestions? this is stopping me from using the remote software.
