Can't Start Service: Access Denied

Long story short, my Software Licensing service will not start because I keep
getting access denied error messages, and as some people might know, this
means windows won't can't be verified and it runs in limited functionality.
I've run it in administrator and it will let me start, but as soon as I log
off (which I need to do to get out of the reduced functionality), I get the
access denied message again. Does anyone have any idea on how to get it to
start and stay started?

Hello,

I don't know if it works but you could try to create another user (maybe
using Safe Mode if this doesn't work in reduced functionality mode) and try
activating there.
Good luck.

A few ideas:

1) Purchase a license from Microsoft.
2) Activate your license
3) Smile, smile, smile.
4) Call Microsoft support for further help.

How can so many otherwise very intelligent people screw up something
so easy so badly? You put a computer keyboard in front of most
people, and they suddenly drop 30 points off their Intelligence
Quotient.

Re: Can't Start Service: Access Denied

Unfortunately, I tried starting it in safe mode, but the service won't even
start in safe mode, so that doesn't work.

And Mr. McDaniel, I already have a license, so I'm not going to spend
another $100+ to try and fix it.

To other future readers, I reformatted and reinstalled, so I won't be able
to test and further suggestions.

Re: Can't Start Service: Access Denied

I have this exact same problem. I'm starting to think it's because windows hasn't been activated. I thought that I activated it but, I'm going to double check when I get home
