| | PC Monitor Software for Syncing Outlook with PDA I upgraded my laptop to Vista from XP about six months ago. I previously had installed a software program from Verizon (PC Monitor) while using XP. Once I installed Vista it was no longer compatible. I have now uninstalled the earlier XP version and downloaded and installed the Vista compatible version. I get an error message that PC Monitor cannot load information for all my users and to re-log in as administrator or the original user. Have tried logging on as administrator and it still gives the same error message. My laptop manufacturer says it's a problem with Vista and the registry and that maybe Microsoft has a workaround, but they won't touch it. Anyone have an idea how to fix this? |

| | Re: PC Monitor Software for Syncing Outlook with PDA The software is compatible and has been tested by Verizon. The problem is in Vista and its inability to wipe out the old registry entries when the program was removed using Control Panel's "add and remove programs." Because those old registry entries linger, when the Vista-compatible installation tries to boot up inside Vista, it still thinks that an unauthorized user is trying to modify the program, even though I am logged in as the administrator. I am hopeful that someone at Microsoft knows of a work-around. "Richard G.
