Registry editor notification

New HP with Vista Home Premium. I'm getting a flashing orange button on task
bar showing "Registry editor Req..." when I open it to look at I get the
following message: If you starteed this action, continue. Residtry Editor.
User account control stops unauthorized changes to your computer.
When I click on details I get the following:
regedit/"c:\programdata\AOL\c_America Online9.0\\avlastkey.reg"
Have tried both continue and cancel but it keeps coming back.
What is it and how do I get rid of it?
Thanks

RE: Registry editor notification

Hi gewaldeck,

This simply indicates that a software program installation routine needs to
write information to the registry. If you use a router, there is actually no
need to have any AOL software on your machine at all and use just the
standard IE7 interface. This is because the settings for accessing the
Internet are stored in your router.
