| Guest | Unable to have administration rights Ok guys, on my pc there are 4 accounts (all the family) with administration rights in order to give all freedoom and possibility. But about 2 weeks ago all of us lost administrative rights. What appen is wery simple. On control panel if you try to open pc managment (compmgmt.msc) or policies (secpol.msc) a message pop-up "Access denied". If I try to run as Administrator nothing appen. Task that I allready have done: turn on and off UAC restore default administrative rights delete user accounts and create new one use the "hidden" administrator user nothing change. I own vista business and the pc is clear from virus, spyware etc etc (thanks nod32) Thanks in advance from suggestion and hints |

| Guest | RE: Unable to have administration rights Have you changed any services recently? Check to see if the Secondary Login service is running. James "Kafhir" wrote:

| Guest | Re: Unable to have administration rights I try to do that but unfortunately also this possibility was not successfull. I'm thinking about the possibility to restart the system in safe mode and try to change system policy setting. However there is no guide about registry setting for policy and UACor at least I dont find it ![]() "minnimiem" wrote:

| Guest | Re: Unable to have administration rights Hi Kafhir. You know and I know and everyone knows that amongst all the accounts in the computer, one of them HAS to be an Administrator. That's a fact. Now the conjecture. If none of you has the adm. rights anymore, that means either someone has hacked into your computer, or there is a 5th acct. and it's the ADM. Might not be as crazy as it sounds. "Kafhir" <Kafhir@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B98DFC93-1E40-468D-93F2-5F401D7120D8@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Unable to have administration rights YES! I just remembered. Re-start your computer in Safe mode. Go to Control Panel and start a system restore- ( yes, I know. You will be asked for adm's permission or password. Just do it as usual, it will let you in ). After that just pick a date as far back as the list allows and do the system restore. After that you should be back to normal.Let me know if this works. It worked for me last time , it wouldn't allow my login password and that's what I did to have my laptop back.
