Write user information to memory when switching users.

I am looking to find a way for vista to write user information from memory to
disk when switching users.
The environment is a portable computer, with multiple users.
I would like to keep program information accessable, but having multiple
users with active programs aversely effects battery life.

Re: Write user information to memory when switching users.

You will need to set up a shared folder for everyone on the computer. When
you switch user or log off to use another account you will be able to get
what you saved on a different account if you shared the folder. You can
right click the start menue and click on explore then go to the the users
folder and find the user that saved the file. if it is shared you can move
it to the desktop or create a shortcut to the file you would like to use

RE: Write user information to memory when switching users.

Generally, battery life is killed by:

* Active CPU usage
* Read/write to the hard drive
* Display backlight
* DVD/CD drive
* Wireless (like 802.11 or bluetooth)

One thing that actually doesn't hurt battery life is having your RAM eaten
up by many active programs. (If near 100% of your RAM is used, then your
computer will automatically use the hard drive as backup memory, which then
does kill the battery, because the hard drive is power-hungry).

If you notice that having multiple users logged in is consuming battery
life, you can try running perfmon.exe and looking for programs that are
hogging the CPU, reading/writing lots to the disk, or if your memory usage is
near 100%.
