pc locked by passwprd need help to get back in

hi all very new to useing a pc but someone was useing it and have put a
password on it and we cant get in and microsoft cant tell us how to unlock
the system. told us to look on the site but where do we look. sorry yes i am
very green when it comes to this kind of thing. please please please help

There's one possibility I can think of. If you haven't set the password to the true administrator account, it may still be accessible by booting your computer in safe mode (press F8) during boot up. Once booted, the icon for the administrator account should be visible, try just clicking on it. If it allows you access, then you can go in and change the password to the account that has the password problem.
