loggin in to windows

My husband has windows vista on his computer. in order to log on to windows
at all he has had to option to either type on a pass word or swipe his finger
print. all on its own his computer now only gives him the option to type in a
pass word, which he has forgotten. does anyone know if it will switc back to
giving him an option or is there a way to get it to give him an option or by
pass that or what. he only has one user on his computer. he and he is the
adminestrator. he cant download anything from online bc he cant get on the
computer. will the store he brought it from help him if he brings a recept.

He can use Method Three in this tutorial to create a boot disk from another computer and boot with it on his to reset the password to gain access again.
