| | brand new user Help! I'm brand new to Vista - have been working in XP and XP Pro. We created a new user, but the password isn't working. I can't figure out how to change the user to Administrator so I can get into the computer. My only screen options appear to be to change the ease of access, and to shut down, hibernate or restart. Right clicking on the user icon doesn't help. Any ideas? THANKS! |

| | Re: brand new user Diane If there are no administrator accounts on the system, you can boot to Safe Mode. The Built-in administrator account will appear there to log in. This account will not have a password. Log in with this account, go to Control Panel/User Accounts and change one of the existing account to an administrator account. To get to safe Mode, reboot the computer and start tapping the F8 Key ubtil you see a black screen menu. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and press Enter. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "Diane" <Diane@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B3152D4F-CCC0-42B3-A507-D6C464DD1318@xxxxxx Quote: > Help!
