Whenever I lock my system (Win + L) I want it to be inaccessible to anybody
but me. This used to work in XP, but not in Vista. How can I disable the
Switch User function in Vista Home Basic? Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks!!

Hi Aditya,
The easiest method would be to password protect your user account. This way no one can logon to your user account without the password from the Lock or Switch User screen. This will show you how to create a password for your user account if needed.

If you still would like to disable "Switch User", then Method Two in this tutorial will show you how. You have the option of doing it on all or selected user accounts.

will still be available on the
My advice? Don't allow anyone other than yourself to have a User
Account on your machine. This should stop it completely, since a User
Account cannot be created from the Welcome Screen. It is simply not
possible to login without an account.

okay.. thanks.. I wanted to disable it for the welcome screen specifically. I
have to have multiple accounts as my sister uses this system too, but when
I'm using it I'd like to stop her from logging on if I step out for a minute
or so. Thanks for your time.
