| | activation Hello. I clicked a link on Gizmodo.com today that led me to a page that stated 100k downloads of Pre-RC 1 Build 5536. I downloaded just fine and did not see anywhere a place to register or obtain an activation key. When I installed I bypassed that step, (foolishly), thinking there was some magic or tracked activation voodo in the actual download. Now it looks like I have 14 days to activate and no key. Am I screwed? Is there a way to rollback to my previous build, (xp pro)? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

| | RE: activation I'm currently in the same situation, if anyone could point us towards a solution or simply tell us that there are no further activation keys available, then that would be very useful. |

What I ended up doing was calling the 800 number listed in the activation section. I punched in my code- of course it didn't work, but then I was transferred to a person and she gave me an activation key. |

| | Re: activation All I did was to activate it over the phone and spoke to an operator at Microsoft who gave me a 42 digit key code to do so, works great.
