| | Administator Issues and turning off user account control My roommate gave me his computer and I am having problems turning off the User Account Controls. I have his password, but when I click to turn user account controls off nothing opens up. There is just a shield by it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- CC8297 |

You will STILL have to manually provide administrator permission to use those. 3) There is no such thing as a "FULL ADMINISTRATOR" user account under Vista. 4) Unless your room-mate's account had "administrator" privileges, you will be unable to turn off UAC. I suggest that you simply reinstall Vista clean, using your OWN password , and then turn UAC off. You will have to restart the machine after turning UAC off.
