| Vista Ultimate 32 | cannot install msi Hi, I am a developer and have recently upgraded my development pc to vista and Visual Studio 2008. I've got some web projects, that now fail to install... Building the web projects is not the problem; I can install them without a problem on another (XP) pc. However, when I try to install them on this (vista) pc by running the .msi, it says I do not have sufficient privileges to install. However, I am not prompted for administrator login, and logging in as administrator and retrying gives the same effect... another weird thing: when I install it running the setup.exe that has been built with it (only in the debug build), it does prompt me for the admin login, and installs correctly... running the debug msi itself does not install correctly. Has anyone got a clue how to fix this? Is seems to me it is a vista issue, but could be a build issue aswell (although it works fine on xp) |

| | Re: cannot install msi Langendries Do you have UAC disabled? If you do not get an admin prompt, just right click the .msi or setup.exe file and select the 'Run as administrator' option. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "langendries" <langendries.37l9w5@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net> wrote in message news:langendries.37l9w5@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net...
