| | Unable to install some software, error refers to pilicies preventi Since setting up this new Vista 64 Ultimate PC I have run into a few problems. Although I am able to install most software, there are two programs that won't install and complain that the Administrator has set policies that prevent installation. I know a workaround, but as this is my PC and I am the only user I'd like to change the policies so that I can install what I want. The two programs so far are Weatherbug and Itunes 64 bit. Everything else installs without complaint but I'm afraid more software down the road wil not install. Online searching provided the workaround but not the cure. |

You might try using Compatibilty mode with "Run as administrator" on it to see if it helps. You can see how to in this tutorial if needed. Compatibility Mode Shawn |

| | Re: Unable to install some software, error refers to pilicies prev Thank you for the suggestion, I am really looking for how to change the policies that no one ever actually set (I'm the admin). I have a workaround that works, but I should be able to fix the problem pemanently.
