Hello Christina,
Administrator Account
The link above will let you enable the real built-in administrator account. Logon to this account and you should be able to do your deleting. One question; you said it will "not allow me to delete anything ---". You really mean ANYTHING ? or just "some of them "? Please inform me of your result.

RE: System Administrator Question

I tried and failed...I used all the passwords I ever use and none of them
work. I tried the reset password but it does not know any of my e-mail
addresses. So I'm at a loss here I have no idea how to get into it. My main
account I use is set as an administrator account so i have no idea why it
will not perform all the administrator duties... any ideas?
Here is what may have started all this , my husband bought me this laptop
the same night vista came out , huge promotion....well anyway the first
laptop would not log on at all so he took it back at 2AM because he was
determined to have a laptop for me in the morning....well he and his friend
hooked it all up for me and i have no idea what passwords they used being so
early they didn't remember or think to write them down ,but for the most part
I could use it and had no reason to delete anything at that time but,I have
had this computer for a year now and it is so full my hard drive is bogging
down I have to eliminate some things ....I'm at my wits end and would
consider cleaning out the whole thing and starting over if that would help
.....but , I have no idea what to do now

Hello Christina,
Here is a link to let you "Take Ownership" of an item. Use Method One, the automatic way. It's a lot easier. Let me know again if it works this time.

Take Ownership of file

You are getting me confused. You mentioned passwords that did not work, which you never said earlier. So, are you able to log on to your account ?
Did you use the first link I gave you? The Real Built-in Admin does not need a password ( if you don't want to ), just log on to it as if it is your account, and start deleting. What was the problem ? "Draw" me a picture so I can understand, don't just say "I tried and failed". What did you try and at what point you failed ? Give me your step by step.
