I recently bought a new computer for my son and he loaded it before I could
get on and establish myself as the administrator. Now I would like to install some software that will control/limit his access and fear that he will be able to delete it. How can I modify the system to enable myself as the administrator for this computer? |

You could give the admin account he created a strong password and then create a standard user account for him.
Control Panel (classic view)/User accounts/Manage another account/create new account. Follow instructions. Hope this helps. Gary |

In addition to Gary's post, the Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, and Ultimate editions come with the Parental Control feature that can also help control/limit his access. This tutorial will show you how to setup and use it if you are interested. Parental Controls - Setup and Use Hope this helps, Shawn |

There are no dumb questions, just the people that do not ask them. Please post feedback to help others.
