| | Standard users is immediately logged off I have Vista Premium on my kids' PC, and everything has been fine for 6 months+. Suddenly yesterday, around the time that the SP1 update got installed, my kids (who have standard user accounts) can't log in anymore. From the login page, they see the "Welcome" page, which immediately goes to the "Logging off" page, and then back to the login page. I searched for this, and found another thread where the poster said that converting the standard user account to Administrator solves the problem, and this is true. When I changed both the kids' accounts to Administrator, no problem. But clearly this is not the right solution. Does anyone have any ideas on the root cause, or any better solutions? Any kind of help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated! Austel |

| | RE: Standard users is immediately logged off I'd like a better answer to this issue too...I have looked everywhere on this board and cannot find an acceptable answer. Most of the posts on this problem have been completely ignored. | | Re: Standard users is immediately logged off Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Yes, this exactly was the problem, and the solution works perfectly. BTW, my problem was cause by a time control software called EZ OFF, which changed the registry and didn't change it back when I uninstalled it. You the man (or woman), t-4-2!! | Vista 32 Ultimate | Re: Standard users is immediately logged off I have the same problem and have checked the Registry entry (it was correctly set) - it did not solve the problem. I wonder if any of the contributors to this thread have any other ideas? Paul |
