| | User Account Control Failure While attempting to delete a file I was told that I needed permission to do this and asked if I wished to retry. The retry does not work even though I am logged in as administrator. I opened up the permissions on the file and folder with no joy. I disabled user account control and was able to delete the file so I re-enabled user account control. Now I have the problem again on another file but disabling user account control does not enable the deletion. Can anyone shed some light on why, when logged in as administrator and the file permissions are wide open AND user account control is disabled I should get a message that I need permission to do it and the retries still fail? |

If you are using the 32 bit version of Vista, then you can see if using the free program "Unlocker" will let you delete the file afterwards. UNLOCKER 1.8.7 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB If not, then you can see if taking ownership of the file first and try deleting it afterwards will work for you. Take Ownership of file Hope this helps, Shawn |
