| | RE: reinstalling vista It should be no problem. If it is an OEM copy of Vista, you are supposed to only replace your Motherboard, not upgrade it, BUT. Retail copy, do what you like with it. Once you reinstall it, you will have to reactivate it. If it gives you a reactivation message of "key already in use"; it is, by you! Take the phone option, hang on for a real person, explain Mobo died; no problems! -- Mick Murphy - Qld - Australia "blackbaz" wrote: Quote: > My motherboard has died and I am replacing it along with new hard drive can I > install my registered copy of vista ultimate or do I have to contact > microsoft? any help or who to contact would be great Thanks |

| | Re: reinstalling vista Yes, you can install it. At most, you will have to use the phone activation to activate Vista. But, you are fine otherwise. -- Dustin Harper dharper@xxxxxx http://www.vistarip.com | Vista Resource & Information Page "blackbaz" <blackbaz@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:7CF6C891-2C6F-43A0-AEF5-23520E19AF27@xxxxxx Quote: > My motherboard has died and I am replacing it along with new hard drive > can I > install my registered copy of vista ultimate or do I have to contact > microsoft? any help or who to contact would be great Thanks |
