| | RE: administrator issue Looks like you've lost administrative control. Reinstall Vista. When you set up Vista again, write down the administrator password that you use to establish the administrator acount. Create a standard user account and use that standard user account for your everyday use. If a program or operation asks for administrator password while you are in standard user account, use the password that you established during reinstall. Lastly, stay away from Geek Squad. 5% of Geek Squad is competent. The rest are not. Best of luck... -- oscar ![]() ....Right click is your very good friend... I'm an artist, all these admin issues are overwhelming me, I'm not a tech head! I have a reinstall DVD (Vista came on the DELL) I've tried to uninstall programs I thought may be causing this and every freakin thing I want to do requires admin authorization, which I cannot give cuz the password is no good!!!!!!! |

Everything will work itself out soon enough. This link will show you how to use the Dell Recovery DVD to restore back to factory settings (Clean install). You will just need to boot from the Dell Vista Recovery DVD or partition. This will help you with the rest. Dell - Technical Support Now, cheer up. It will be fixed for you soon after. ![]() Shawn |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: administrator issue Hello MMobley, Have you already tried the suggestions in this tutorial posted above? It usually will help fix this error. The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.
