| Guest | Profiles One of the problems i see often is a family computer with a profile for each person in the house. The kids downloading crap like zango and the likes infecting the system etc. What i think would be a good idea in eliminating cross profile infection is : When someone i.e. kids install a program it is only allowed to load when their profile is logged in to. When Dad for example comes home from work and logs in it should pop up and say "Kid 1 has installed Program whatever. Would you like this to be accessable to your profile?" When the OS loads up it will only run the core components that the OS needs to load. In vista only components the are flagged as ships with OS get to load. And when any user logs in it will only allow to run the programs either they install or they have allowed to run. Also an idea about the admin account on XP home. We need a profile that is only accessable under certain conditions like safe mode that cannot be infected, possibly using the above idea. A profile that will not allow any non microsoft OS components to run. This should allow for scanning every part of every profile while not allowing the content of these profiles to be viewed by human eyes. Microsoft already know how to indentify quite a few anti virus utilities. In XP the security center pops up saying AVG Free anti virus needs updating. These would be the only exceptions to the non microsoft rule for programs running. Don't know if i have explained this very well. I await your Flames ;-) Flak ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes.
