| Guest | RE: product key You have a valid product key? If you are having issues with Windows Vista, I suggest that you submit bug reports for MS through the channel on how you got hold of Vista. If you do not have a valid product key, and you do not like to mess with beta software, and you do not have any suppor channel, then don't install Vista. -- Jabez Gan [MVP] http://www.blizhosting.com http://www.msblog.org "chrissieboy" wrote: > hi, > > just a quick one to anyone who thinks that just because you can dl vista you > should... > > i have read all the post on all the forums , and can only wonder if people > are reading the small print before trying to install. the reason i mention > this is because my install will not work correctly, i can not register and > activate it, wmp11 will not work and i have had to try to get my apps > working...i accept this as its a beta version!. > > ms have told me to uninstall vista , and re-install xp....so many people are > posting for info on how to do this, after installing vista on there primary > drive and not backing up xp....if you have to ask you shouldnt be playing > with vista. > > ms plainly tell you not to install this on your primary > drive/station...there isnt any support! > > be carful out there > > ---------------- > This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the > suggestions with the most votes. | Guest | RE: product key With 5 previous versions of Vista I was able to activate by using the phone system after saying "I do not have a product key". The phone system automatically entered a key in my computer, or a phone operator gave me a key to enter on my screen. Idid not write any of thise numbers down. You will see previous msgs here from me explaining how to do this. Suddenly with 5744 the computer is not coming up with a number to enter into the phone system. I've talked to MS activation team who say "Tech Support don't work on Sundays so please phone tomorrow" It is odd that the activation system has suddenly been changed. | Guest | RE: product key I re-registered just moments ago and was give a key online instantly. With that I was able to activate 5744. Of course I have made a note of the key number! | Guest | RE: product key I think your post really shows your ignorance. Either you have an inability to read, or are unwilling to do so. It clear states on the CPP page that ... "Note: This is beta code and should not be used in a production environment or on a primary computer in the home. RC1 is intended for developers, IT professionals, and technology experts to continue or begin their testing of Windows Vista. Before you decide to use RC1, you should feel comfortable with installing operating systems, updating drivers, and general PC troubleshooting. Some risks of using beta operating systems include hardware and software incompatibility and system instability. If you have concerns about installing this beta software on your computer, we encourage you to obtain the final release version of Windows Vista when it is available in 2007." They also state this on the CPP page... "Beta support policy This is pre-release (beta) software distributed for trial and testing purposes only. Microsoft does not provide technical support for beta releases. Although formal support is not offered for this beta, we have provided newsgroups to help answer questions you may have related to the installation and use of Windows Vista RC1. To join or read postings in these newsgroups, please visit http://windowshelp.microsoft.com." MS has done enough. Now it's time to use your brain.
