Turned off pc during windows vista restoring

Hi all,

I mistakenly turned off my pc during the system restore of windows
vista. It was taking too long and decided to turned it off and then on.
But now windows just doesn't start. I have important information on my
pc and I don't want to lose it. What can I do?

Your help is much needed! Any comments for my lack of patience please
keep it to yourself

Thanks!

Re: Turned off pc during windows vista restoring

That is exactly the results I would expect if I did that, not surprising at
all.

Tap F8 when you turn on your PC, and select last known good config from the
boot menu and hit enter. Next time think a bit before getting impatient.

To play it safe, you might want to save your data with this Linux program ( Computer First Aid Using Knoppix ). Then you can try the reinstall again.

Re: Turned off pc during windows vista restoring

The OP wasn't doing a reinstall, they were rolling back to a previous
restore point.
