Access is denied

I am running a dual boot (XP MCE2005 & Vista RTM). I have 3 extra HDD's that
I had filled up in XP (Photos/Music/Vids/Docs, etc.) However, through Vista,
I can't seem to manipulate these files at all. I keep getting an "I don't
have the permissions to open this file, contact the owner of the file or the
administrator for permission"

I have tried setting "full-control" in the folders' properties security tab.

How do I go about setting the proper permissions to these files, so that I
can access them through both XP and Vista?

Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated
