| | runas /user:USER problem and a strange behavior of runas Hallo NG, if I try to use the runas command in a batch file or in a shortcut like: C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /profile /user:MYMACHINE\stduser C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe or C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /noprofile /user:MYMACHINE\stduser C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe I get the following error: C:\>notepad.lnk Enter the password for MYMACHINE\stduser: Attempting to start C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe as user "MYMACHINE\stduser" ... RUNAS ERROR: Unable to run - C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe 1060: The specified service does not exist as an installed service. C:\> Since about two weeks I get this error, but I don't know how to fix that. btw: notepad.exe is available and there is no problem to start it in a normal way. I'm just wondering why the system say "The specified service does not exist..." if I would like to run at an another user. I know, it's just a usal program, not a service... :-( I hope that somebody can help me to fix this and perhaps explain what's wrong in my system. S |
