Vista - Administrator Permissions

Hello

I dont seem to have a user "everybody"

However I think i eventually managed to solve the problem by creating a new
user and giving them administrator privilidges. That user now seems to be
able to access everything I thought the original administrator who set the
machine up from scratch should have had !

Crud. I still seem to be having that problem.

I installed last night and some of the folders on my drive give me the
denied access message. Specifically the "Documents and Settings" folder and
a few of the other ones around the hard drive. I'm logged in as Domain
Administrator for my domain that the computer is a member of and it still
gives me no access.

I've tried Domain Admin, Local Admin, and creating a new account with
administrator access.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

When you fire up Explorer 'right-click' it and elect 'Run as Administrator' -
seems to be the workround for most of these issues in this area...

Is it fixed for you ?? If not i had the same problem as you I had a music
file on desktop and wanted to put it in my user-music folder but didnt had
admin powers so i went in start-all programs-accesories-run and typed
secpol.msc press ok. Went in Local policies-security options and at the
bottom of the page at user account control:Behavior of the elevation prompt
for standard users and put it to no prompt. Moved my folder without Vista
asking me to prove i had to Creds. Enjoy

Hello

I managed to fix it by creating a new user with administrator privelidges
and that seemed to solve the problem. It seems very bazzar that when you set
the system up as an administrator you dont actually get admin rights unless
you force it to do so.
