| | User Login Failed I have Vista Home premium and am just setting up my computer. I have a workjing Administrator account and created two standard user accounts - one for my wife and I. My new PC is networked to my old PC running Windows XP - a simple two PC home network. Vista will not let me log in to either of the standard user accounts. the error message I get is "User Profile Service service failed" So far I am not Impressed by Vista! |

| | RE: User Login Failed You can find this under Services (Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services), it's called User Profile Service. Check to make sure that it is listed as Started under Status and that its Startup Type is Automatic. You can configure both by double-clicking on it in Services. | | RE: User Login Failed Hi, I am having the same problem. I checked the User Profile Service and it is configured correctly, but I still can't log on as a standard user or guest. I have tried deleting and making a new account to no avail. What else can I try?
