Full Administrator Access

I am trying to run a bios upgrade that i downloaded from Dell.com
When i try to run it it asks to run as administrator..
I run as administrator and now says i need to be "ogged in"as an
administrator.
I disable UAC
I figure out how to enable the administrator built in account and i loggin
as administrator.
I run the bios upgrade and again it says i need to be logged in as an
administrator..
Why?? If i disabled all the protections and i actually logged in as an
administrator, why is it still asking me to login as an administrator if i
already am??
Am i never gonna be able to upgrade my bios?? Seems like the only solution
is to reinstall windows xp and upgrade the bios then and then reinstal
windows vista..
but this is kinda annoying..
annoyances.org hasn't been able to help either... i'm stressing..
Help!!
:-(

Re: Full Administrator Access

Hi, Roberto,

You need to right click Windows CMD.exe when you go to the command prompt.
Select - Run as Administrator, to boost you to the next level.
Then try your Bios upgrade again.

Re: Full Administrator Access

Roberto

Are you trying to run the BIOS upgrade from within Windows Vista?

The reason I ask is that usually a BIOS upgrade has to be run when the
computer first initializes and before the operating system loads. Go back to
the Dell website and read the installation instructions to make sure you are
doing this properly.
