No Permission

Recently my pc w/xp crashed. I wasn't able to restore it, so I decided, time
for a new pc. The new pc has vista. I also bought a hard drive enclosure, so
I could retrieve my documents and files I need from the old hard drive.
However, when I try to copy or move the files, I just get a message saying
that I need permission to view this file. I bought the pc new, and I am the
only user, and administrater. How do I get this fixed.
