Vista - alunotify.exe application error

These days when I strat my computer, there is a alunotify.exe application
error pop up, which says the application failed to initialize
properly(0xc0000022). click OK to terminate the spplication.
What can I do to solve the problem?

It's part of your Symantec Antivirus or security software. Try uninstalling
and reinstalling or contacting Symantec for support.

Hi Lok, I have the same problem. I contacted Symantec, they say it's a
Windows Permission problem. They emailed me a bunch of confusing stuff to
do, what they say is not exactly what the computer does or states. I'll wait
and see what kind of replies you get here. Otherwise this error message is
telling you your Norton isn't doing it's live updates automatically as I
understand it. I've been doing them manually until this gets figured out.
