Vista - Downloading MSN Messsenger

When I attempt to download Windows Live Messenger 8.1 the code issend to my
laptop and when it is ready for the install I get a message "Ypu do not have
the permissions to install Windows Live Messenger on this computer. Please
contact somebody who has the right premission. I am signed in as the
administrator. Are there some security settings that I need to change. I have
installed other software on this laptop without problems.

When you select the file to download, click the Save button and download the
file to your Desktop. Right click the downloaded file and select the Run As
Administrator option.

Have you tried just downloading it directly from the Windows Live Messenger
Site?
go to uk.msn.com and click "Messenger" then click download , when the dialog
box comes up click "Save" let it save. Then to install run the executable
(.exe) on the drive.
If this doesnt work, try ideas.live.com to download a BETA version of
Messenger (8.5)
