Vista - CMD Language Usage for Vista

I am trying to run an ipconfig /release /renew and Vista says that I must
use elevated credentials.

I have already corrected gpedit.exe to run without elevating credentials for
administrators. Can someone please let me know what the work around for this
is?

If you have been reconfiguring the security setting with gpedit the standard
way my no longer work but this is the normal way to do it.

Start Orb
in the search box type
cmd
at the top of the search results will be programs with an entry
cmd
right click the entry, select run as administrator

do your ipconfig operations

What does start orb mean? Sorry may sound stupid but I am new to Vista.

Called start orb (at least by some) because it is an orb and when you hover
the sursor over it is says start.

Why do you have to do a run as when you are logged on as an administrator?
Clicking on the Orb/Start key then typing cmd in the search box takes me
straight to the command line, it does not give me any options to choose from
as you wrote.

Don't hit the Carriage return after typing in

cmd

Instead right click on the highlighted cmd.exe line under the first section
titled Programs.
It is here that you have the option to run elevated. The second line in the
fly out from right clicking will have a shield and say 'Run as
Administrator' left click that. You will be asked to confirm you want to do
this. Continue. Cmd will now run with elevated privileges.
