| | How to Synchronize User and Admin Account settings? In Windows Vista Home Premium, the UAC should encourage usual operation in a reduced-privilege user account, and work in Admin only when necessary to install applications, etc. Problem I'm having is, how do I synchronize things like desktop, favorites, iTunes, and other settings and customization? I set up the system the way I want it in Admin, but when I log on as User, many things are different. I want a way to "mirror" my admin account settings and configurations, as well as IE & other Favorites, etc., in my user account (but not in other users accounts). Any advice will be appreciated. |

| | Re: How to Synchronize User and Admin Account settings? Stan UAC actually does encourage using a Standard acount. You should not be using a separate administrator account to set the system up. Use your Standard account and if something requires administrator privileges, UAC will prompt you to enter an administrators account name and password to elevate that process. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Stan Hutchings" <NOSPAMstanDOThutchingsATgmailDOTcom> wrote in message news:39A27E5D-7B30-4BEF-B6EE-B163FA94B183@xxxxxx Quote: > In Windows Vista Home Premium, the UAC should encourage usual operation in > a > reduced-privilege user account, and work in Admin only when necessary to > install applications, etc. > Problem I'm having is, how do I synchronize things like desktop, > favorites, > iTunes, and other settings and customization? > I set up the system the way I want it in Admin, but when I log on as User, > many things are different.
