So you rushed out and bought a computer with the newest and shiniest OS without taking a few minutes to determine: a. If you really needed a new operating system, b. If the new operating system would or could meet your computing needs and desires, c. And whether or not all of the 3rd party applications that you already owned or used were Vista-compatible, or could be made so be a patch or update from each programs' respective manufacturer. Quote: > ...anyone have an answer? Answer to what, precisely? Your problems, by your own description, stem entirely from your unwillingness (or inability) to make an informed purchasing decision, and the inactions of manufacturers/providers of 3rd party games. Only they can fix their products. If you're refering to the question misplaced in the subject line, yes, you can remove Vista and install WinXP, if you like. It is your computer, after all. There could be a couple possible adverse repercussions, however. First and foremost, if the specific computer model in question was designed specifically for Vista, there may well be no WinXP-specific device drivers available to make the computer's diverse components work properly. Consult the computer's manufacturer about the availability of device drivers. Secondly, removing an OEM-installed operating system and replacing with another will almost invariably void any and all support agreements and, sometimes, even the warranty. You would, at the very least, have to re-install Vista before getting any support from the manufacturer. Again, consult the computer's manufacturer for specifics. Thirdly, there will be the additional cost involved in purchasing a WinXP license for this new computer. You should return the computer to the seller and exchange it for one with WinXP, if possible. -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. ~Benjamin Franklin Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do. ~Bertrand Russell The philosopher has never killed any priests, whereas the priest has killed a great many philosophers. ~ Denis Diderot |

Such as what processor, OS, Memory, Hard disc, Video card, sound card are required to play it. Check that the games you buy/download are OS Vista compatible. Regards, EUMP |

Try This: If you downloaded the game software, find where it is located and select the properties of each application file, then select the compatibility tab and change compatibility mode to run the program as Windows XP. This worked for me for certain zone games. |
