Error message 80070714

Hi,

I have a brand new Acer pc with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-loaded.
When I want to upgrade Vista it gives error 80070714

I searched all ove but they are almost all related to windows defender
upgrade but mine is windows update. Ok anyway I dont have spyware doctor or
skype running. I have two questions

(When I do update on defender runs smoothly)

1. What exactly means 80070714?
2. How can I resolve it?

Thanks

Call Microsoft, they should be able to help you get the upgrde installed if you just purchased it.

Re: Error message 80070714

The reason why i was getting the issue with mine, was because when i first started the account it asked if i wanted to do any updates. However i thought the computer froze because it went to the install background for vista and hung for like an hour. I figure it because the initial updates weren't installed correctly.

My issue stemmed from having a bummed hard drive which was failing when it was writing the information.
