20gb file but where

Hi everyone
Im using a samsung NP-R40 laptop with C drive 50gb and a D
drive with 50gb. My computer is running very slow and when it comes to using
internet it seen's to just stop halfway through loading a page. Someone told
me that if my C drive is full or has a lot of data on it that could cause the
problem. So i set about reducing the files i have on my C drive by deleting
old movies and music albams and got it down to 12gb. But my C drive is still
showing me that i have over 40gb used when i right click on it and select
properties. When i open c drive and check the properties of its content it is
showing that im using just over 12gb so where can the other 30+gb be hiding.

Restore Points........unemptied recycle bin...IE cache...
If you run disc cleaner you can reduce the number of restore points to just
the last one.
