| Re: Old Files Appear In Search How old are these incorrect files? It may be that the indexing database hasn't had time to update. It will run at the lowest priority, so if you are actively using your computer, it may not run and remove the old entries. | Re: Old Files Appear In Search Ouch. You may try recreating the index. Type Indexing Options in the search bar (or in the Control Panel) Select Advanced On the Index Settings tab select rebuild Give it a while while it does it's thing Hope this helps. | Re: Old Files Appear In Search Hi, Phoenix. A month SHOULD be long enough, but... If you are keeping your computer busy and shutting it down when you are finished, it might still not have had enough uninterrupted time to finish updating the Index in the background. If you have a lot of files with a lot of information - especially text - it might take a very long time. Are you including thousands (or millions?) of email and newsgroup messages in the Index? Do you have a fast computer and fast hard drive(s)? I see Rogue has suggested having it rebuild the Index. That's a good idea. First, though, go to Control Panel | Indexing Options and make sure you have the settings you want in the Modify and Advanced tabs. Then, leave the computer running overnight to give it plenty of time to finish the rebuild. That Indexing Options screen will tell you "Indexing complete" when it is finished. RC -- R. C.
