| Guest | Folders do not display in Indexing Options / Indexing Locations Hi, I have been an enthusiast to desktop search technologies so I really liked Windows Desktop Search available for XP. But I have a problem with the search in Vista. I have some folders created in the root of my C: drive storing relevant business content for which indexing was important for me. However I cannot add these folders to the indexed locations since whenever I open Indexing Options in Control Panel and click Modify and Show all locations, these folders are just not showing up under the node of my C: drive. Simply to put I cannot get Vista index my C:\Work folder since there's no Work folder displayed under my hard drive's node. The folder was created by the same account that is used to try to get it indexed and is not a shared folder. The problem occurs with every folder I have created in C:, only the folders created by Vista and by the hardware vendor are shown. How to remedy this very bad problem, guys? Cheers, Gus |

Cheers, Gus You might try disabling the Search Index and let Vista default to using the full non-indexed search instead. This tutorial will show you how. Index - Enable or Disable Shawn |
