Where are the APPLICATIONS in Vista?

We moved the Desktopshortcut to start MS-Word... and now we can't find the
actual MS-Word Application!? When we "search" for Word, Vista just shows us
"shortcuts" The thing is... the shortcut does not start the program anymore.
So my question is.... where do you suppose the actual program is??????? I
mean... it was soooooo easy to find things with XP... but now everything is
either hidden, or inaccessable!! (dont even ask how long it took me to find
my cookies!!) Ok, i know iam dumb... but why does Vista have to be so
complicated? I know Word is on my computer (someplace) b'cuz when we click
on a Word.doc the program opens. When we firtst got Vista i kinda liked
it... but the more i use it... i kinda dont. Can someone please tell me
where the Applications are? ThaNKS Amanda

I apologize, I should have given more detail.

Click Start> Computer> C drive> Program files> Microsoft Office.

Re: Where are the APPLICATIONS in Vista?

Amanda,

Most applications that are properly installed are located under c:\Program
Files.

My Word 2007 is at C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Office12\Winword.exe

To locate yours, click on start orb, type winword, in the search result list
at the top should be Winword, right click it, select 'open file location'.

Michael,
This will take them to the shortcuts that they already know about. If
they then right click the shortcut and click "open file location" they
will then be at the location of the app in program files.

Re: Where are the APPLICATIONS in Vista?

I have Office 2003, and my WinWord.exe is located at

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE"

You should be able to find it by clicking on the Start button, and type
winword in the search box
