How to turn off "rich drag and drop"?

With rich drag and drop a very large icon appears when you start to drag a
file along with an indication of what you're doing with it.

Is there a way to turn off this feature?

The large icon obscures the other folders when you're looking for a
destination.

Nobody has found a way to get rid of that large icon, yet.

What I usually do to work around the problem is expand the width of the
Navigation Pane. This allows you to hover the draged file next to the folder
tree so that you can see which folder is highlighted before dropping the
file.
