hello,
i'm a german student and i'm researching the topic "desktop search" software
at the moment. i have to write a paper about the features and the technics
the software producers are using. i hope you can help me and answer a

question:

in which way the windows desktop search save the index? (hash, ISAM etc.)

this information is necessary for the advantages and disadvantages of the
search engine. i hope you will help me.

In Vista, the integrated search component saves the index database in the
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search folder. There are several different formats
used for this database.
