RAW format disk

My computer system is Window VISTA Ultimate version. The hard disk of my
notebook was not enough, so I bought 160GB Samsung hard disk which separate
two division, one is 60GB and the other is 100GB, and connect by USB.
Someday, it just doesn't work. At first, I think hard disk was dead and then
I found I could see the device but it didn't have any data. I saw the format
was RAW, not NTFS. What can I do? How to save my important data?

Re: RAW format disk

If it says your drive is RAW, then it needs to be Formatted!!
I don't know know how you partioned the drive. BUT it Must be REFORMATTED
if it reads RAW.
Hope this will help you.

Attach the drive to another computer running a different operating
system - XP or Linux for example. If you can read the data, copy it off
either to that computer's hard drive or burn to CD/DVD-R. Then take the
drive back to your Vista machine and format it. Restore the data to it
from your backups.
