Do nothing further on the drive or you may overwrite the data, making it impossible to retrieve the files. http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html PCInspector File Recovery - http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/welcome.htm Executive Software “Undelete” - http://www.execsoft.com/undelete/undelete.asp R-Studio - http://www.r-tt.com/ File Scavenger - http://www.quetek.com/prod02.htm Ontrack's EasyRecovery - http://www.ontrack.com/software/ Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" What you can also do is if you have Shadow Copies enabled and the files existed prior to the creation of the last Restore Point, is right-click on the folder that originally contained the files or folders you deleted, and then go to the "Previous Versions" tab. Select the file/folder you want to restore. From there you can "open" it to see if it contains the files you want, "copy" it to another, safe, location, or "restore" it. Copy is the better choice, because you can restore the contents without risking the current contents of that folder. Good luck! |

From reading the information at the MS website (although I have Ultimate, I've never used the "previous versions function"), I couldn't tell whether you needed to click on the actual file or not. Naturally if that were necessary, it wouldn't be there if you'd deleted it. From what you're saying, I suppose the OP could click on her Pictures folder and get them all back. Unless I'm wrong, this feature is only available in Vista Business and Ultimate editions. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User |
