| | bitmap i am trying to find a bitmap image. it shows up in certain programs, leading me to believe it's on the desktop, but i cannot get at the file directly to delete. searches for .bmp extension don't work, nor does searching by the name. any idea? |

| | Re: bitmap Jd Details??? Where do you see this bitmap image? What is the name of the image? Can you post a screenshot showing the image? Is it just an image or does clicking this image do something? -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "jd" <jd@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:AB010655-47B5-4025-B5EA-FFC78DCE1018@xxxxxx Quote: >i am trying to find a bitmap image. it shows up in certain programs, >leading > me to believe it's on the desktop, but i cannot get at the file directly > to > delete. searches for .bmp extension don't work, nor does searching by the > name. > any idea? |

| | Re: bitmap thanks, ronnie i think i might have figured it out finally. the image was not visible on the desktop -- no shortcut, anyway, was visible -- but it showed up when i was on facebook trying to add photos to an existing photo album. when you clicked on "add photos," a box opened up with a menu defaulting to the desktop, and it appeared there, alone with other images that do appear on my desktop. by clicking on the image, it brought up a windows photo gallery that did allow me to delete it. i hope it's gone permanently. it was not the kind of image i want my kids to see, if you get my drift.
