Vista - Shadow Copy is not working

I have vista ultimate and can't figure out a way to get "Previous versions"
of files to work correctly. When check this tab all I ever see is "There
are no previous versions available". Few things I've tried.

Verified System Protection is enabled on c:\ (system) drive.
Verified Printer and Filesharing was enabled on local connection.
Disabled, rebooted and re-enabled system protection.

The only error I get relating to this in the error logs is: "The VSS service
is shutting down due to idle timeout."

Here's what I get when checking vssadmin list shadowstorage:

I would really, really like for this feature to work. Please help.

Nevermind. I had been using TweakVista and had a few services that appeared
to be completely unrelated to shadow copy disabled. Restoring default
services fixed it immediately.

Sorter13, thanks for your post. I'll install tweakvista and see if I can fix the same problem with "shadow copies" on my system. There must be a glitch in Vista disabling the feature.
