Simplify Fiel operation Confirmations in Vista

I have just upgraded to Vista Ultimate and am probably experiencing a lot of
what you all went through when you first upgraded. Yes, I have learned how
to take ownership and set full permissions both for myself individually and
as administrator (which I am logged in as). However, I still cannot drag
and drop or rename files without TWO confirmation dialogs for each single
operation. This is just too much. I need to take it down to one.
Confirming twice is definitely not a usability improvement over confirming
once, and I can't live with it anymore. Would someone be kind enough to
tell me the best way around this?

Thanks!
Tony

Hi Tony,

Here are some options for you:
Be sure to read the WARNINGS and NOTES in each tutorial below.

1. You can turn UAC off.

User Account Control (UAC)

2. You can Elevate the Administrators Privilege Level.

User Account Control (UAC) - Elevate Privilege Level

3. You can Enable the Real Built-in Administrator Account and use it without UAC messing with you.

Administrator Account

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Simplify Fiel operation Confirmations in Vista

Hi, Tony.

I don't need to confirm most moves - so long as I stay out of Vista's
restricted zones, such as the Root of Drive C: or C:\Program Files. Or to a
location that I've not yet given myself permission to access. Yes, UAC is
turned on.

But, as a one-man one-computer kind of guy, I've not yet learned very much
about file ownership and permissions, so I can't help you much.
