Resizing the Windows Partition and Creating New Partition for Data

I was a bit hasty in installing my new version of vista and forgot to create 2 partitions on the hard drive like i usually do. I want one partition for Windows and one partition for data. I have a version of Paragon Partition Manager but im not able to do these tasks because it says that the c: is still in use. What's the easiest way to get around this without having to reinstall Vista?

Re: Resizing the Windows Partition and Creating New Partition for Data

Hi, bnhoang86.

Congratulations, and thanks for the report back!

That Shrink Partition function is new in Vista's version of Disk Management.
Many users still haven't even found Disk Management, which has been in every
Windows since Windows 2000, nearly 8 years ago! I've had almost no need for
third-party partition managers since then, even though I've done a lot of
partition-shuffling, especially during the Vista beta-testing period.

I find Disk Management so useful so often that I've created a shortcut in my
Quick Launch toolbar to diskmgmt.msc. That starts DM directly without all
the "screen real estate overhead" imposed by Computer Management.
