That Shrink Partition function is new in Vista's version of Disk Management.
Many users still haven't even found Disk Management, which has been in every
Windows since Windows 2000, nearly 8 years ago! I've had almost no need for
third-party partition managers since then, even though I've done a lot of
partition-shuffling, especially during the Vista beta-testing period.
I find Disk Management so useful so often that I've created a shortcut in my
Quick Launch toolbar to diskmgmt.msc. That starts DM directly without all
the "screen real estate overhead" imposed by Computer Management.
