Vista - Explorer navigation question

In Windows XP Windows Explorer you can use the cursor keys to move up or
down and across directories which in turn refreshes the right pane of
Explorer to display file/folders however in Vista doing the same does not
refresh the file/folder pane.

Can this be done in Vista (maybe using a registry amendment)?

Not sure why this was changed in Vista?

You can still navigate the folders the same way, but you need to press the
Enter key when you want to display the contents of the folder that is
currently selected.

Probably every explorer replacement will do what you want. For example
XYplorer (there's even a freeware version that will do it).

Do you mean a freeware version of xyplorer? Because such is not anywhere in evidence at that
location (a 30-day trial, following which it costs 17.50Euros or $25.)

I had to make the free version less visible to reduce extra work resulting
from support requests from free version users. They did not take my "No
email support" statement as serious as I meant it...

Thanks, downloading now. Having just plopped down my once-a-year packet of throwaway money for
a laptop, I really won't be in a position to buy additional s/w for probably another year.

Enjoy it, the free version is very powerful: it's identical to the pay
version from only 1 year ago! But know also that the current pay version of
XYplorer is infinitely more powerful. You get a LOT of value for your buck.
