How delete previous downloaded file names

One thing I notice when I download a file through pc to users\name\downloads, or use Getright and send download to a file called downloads, when I click on file name to call download I notice below it evey single file name I downloaded in the past, and a lot I have already uninstall off my pc. I tried to delete them but can't find a way to do so. Does someone know how to delete a file name that was used for a download?
When you click on a download, the file comes up what to call it, it is this area (Files Names) I'm talking about. Everytime I do a download that name gets added, and the list gets bigger. How to get rid of old downloaded file names list. Thanks for the help.

Open "Download" folder 'right click on file you wish to delete >select
"Delete' in box.
or
To delete all files:
In Menu bar select > Edit > select 'Select All' > 'Right Click > select

Re: How delete previous downloaded file names

Let me re-explain, only way I know to get there is downloading a file from website.
1) Click on file want to download
2) A box comes up asking to run, save, or cancel
3) Check save
4) Now I have a box come up called save as.
5) Down near bottom it says "File Name", to the right of this area's box is a small arrow. Click on this arrow. A box opens with all downloaded file names that I have downloaded. The list looks like this:
C:/downloads/filename
C:/downloads/filename
C:/downloads/filename
etc,,,
It appears to keep a list of downloads I made, even those no longer on my pc. There is no edit, than select all, delete for this box, and even though I right click & a delete choice is there, I click delete, file is gone, but when click on that arrow & open box the filename is still there.
Getright keeps a download list, but Getright allows you to delete it.
Do a short download like above & click that arrow when it asks filename, and see what list you have,
How do you delete this list? or does it get so full it replaces filenames?
Also, C:/downloads/filename is where I send a download throgh Getright, & Users/downloads/filename when use pc to download. Once I download, I remove that file from C:/downloads/filename, that folder is empty, so if tell me the filenames are there, go delete them, it's not there.
So, how to clear/delete this list that keeps a record of what filename you called your download? I never noticed this on my old pc, my new pc is Vista, so maybe it's a Vista thing. Thanks for any help.
Sincerely,
Max

Re: How delete previous downloaded file names

Hello:
Well my problem was sloved by using ccleaner, I installed & ran it, check download history, & it was gone. The cleaner I was using wasn't cleaning download history, so it confused me, because I thought it was suppose to clean it. Since we know ccleaner does the job, it would'nt do any good to metion the cleaner that didn't do it. Thanks to the reply that tried to help.

Re: How delete previous downloaded file names

All I can suggest is to go to CCleaner forum & ask your question, or look into other cleaners that do what you want to do.
