| | Re: Windows Explorer Error Message Hi, Explorer acts like that when there is a conflicting application. Whether it's spy/adware, an incompatible program, or interfering software is what you need to determine. Sometimes the problem lies in certain antivirus applications as well. Try this: Click start and type msconfig, then hit <enter>. On the general tab, choose diagnostic mode, then click apply/ok and reboot. See it the problem continues. If it doesn't (and I don't suspect it will), move to selective startup mode and just allow a few of the applications to load in between reboots until the problem returns. Once it does, you know it is one of the newly reactivated ones. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Swabbie" <nospam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:A1D7BA6A-D50E-4EC3-A45B-28A0F115F15A@xxxxxx Quote: > Has anyone found the solution to the error message "Windows Explorer has > stopped working" and watch it close and then restart? > > -- > > Mit freundlichen Grüßen |

| | Re: Windows Explorer Error Message This sounds strange to me, but when I deleted the contents of my download folder everything seemed to return to normal. Could a program in there have caused it? I did cut out fluff from startup. "Rick Rogers" <rick@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:uDtczW$TIHA.4684@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi, > > Explorer acts like that when there is a conflicting application. | | Re: Windows Explorer Error Message Hi, Yep, as those files load with Internet Explorer and that shares many processes with explorer.exe. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Swabbie" <nospam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:3021E9E2-5FA5-4242-99F2-4AA70DC52106@xxxxxx Quote: > This sounds strange to me, but when I deleted the contents of my download > folder everything seemed to return to normal.
